Not only are our candles earth friendly, our packaging is also earth friendly.  The packaging we have chosen to encase these terrific candles are made right here in the great USA.  All of our materials are made from recycled products and can be recycled. Our bags are made from low density polyethylene with 30% recycled material and are photodegradable. Our ribbon is made from 100% cotton. The ribbon is biodegradable, washable reusable and sustainable. The Natural Kraft boxes we use are made from 100% recycled fibers. Approximately 80% is composed of post-consumer recovered fibers. Almost half of this is from curb side recycling, while the rest is made up of commercial and industrial collections of OCC (old corrugated container), and baled recycled newspaper. The rest of it comes from pre-consumer fiber sources and trimmings. These boxes are also 100% recyclable.  The tissue wrap we use is made of 75% post industrial recycled fibers and is #1 Grade USA-MF.  By making our candles from natural resources and our packaging from recyclable materials we are creating something that is green, earth friendly and ultimately a great product.

Also after some research on this subject we have learned that plastic is indeed not bad for the environment. It actually is better in many ways than not if people would take the time to recycle it. All plastic is recyclable!  Despite what the public has been told, there is a significant demand for recycled plastic products, especially if people are told how to correctly recycle it. Plastic bags can be recycled into more plastic bags. A lot of recycled paper is turned into newsprint which amazingly has not been brought up as an issue to stop using paper. The big myth is that if plastic is eliminated then more oil or gas for heating or fuel will be available or created. Actually less than 3% of natural gas, oil or feedstock is used to make ALL plastic. Surprisingly plastic is the MOST adequate material to use if landfills are the concern. Glass, metals, paper all take up more space than plastic bags when they are disposed of. People all want simple answers to complicated problems without doing the research. Recycle, Reuse and Reduce is still the best policy for all consumers.
